Lanzarote is an island full of contrasts. You can find
yourself on a camel going throught Timanfaya,or you can reach beautiful beaches.
Today in Canarian Transfer
we
will introduce you one of the most magic place of Lanzarote: Mil Palmeras
Valley
Where is the Mil Palmeras valley
Everyone knows this valley with the name of Mil Palmeras,
but its real name is Haria. It is
in the north of Lanzarote in a fertile area where there are thousands of
Palmeras.
From here its popular name. The weather in that area is more rainy than other
regions. This, with the nice temperature of the year, allowed the growth of
these beautiful trees. You can also enjoy the cactus, among others species.
Haría
The city who gives the
name to the valley is Haría, one of the oldest of Lanzarote.
When the colonization of
the Island started, there were already some settlements in this area. The
urban structure of Haría has the real taste of the popular architecture of the
island. Among its alleys, which seems to make a labyrinth, the palm trees stand
out among the white-washed facades. In the square Plaza de León y Castillo
there is a small market every Saturday, where it is possible to buy
agricultural and handcraft products.
This square and the one of the Constitución are meeting
points for the people who live there. Moreover, during the tour of Haría, it’s
worth going to the House Museum of César Manrique
Very close to this place there is the famous Cueva de los Verdes.
Trekking
through the Mil Palmeras Valley
The Mil Palmeras valley offers one of the most famous
trekking route of all canarian archipelago. The trail El Bosquecillo is a
simple route of about three hours.
The trail passes across the valley and has interesting
and several viewpoints. They have a beautiful view, the valley under the feet
of the trekker and a myriad of palms around.
