owners of pets usually have a big doubt: bring or not bring them on vacations.
When they go to a destination with beach, they need to know if their dogs can
enjoy or not. For this reason, today as Canarian Transfer we will tell you
about beaches for dogs in Lanzarote.
Two beaches for dogs in Lanzarote
Animals
like to enjoy the beach, so like humans. Especially dogs
love to run on the sand and give a dip.
If you visit the island with your dog, you should know
that nowadays exist two beaches for dogs in Lanzarote. One with specific opening
timings and the other one no.
Playa de las Coloradas
On
one side there is Playa de Las
Coloradas or Playa El Afre, situaded in the municipality of Yaiza, in the south of the island.
There
are more than 400 meters of beaches and 150
meters abilitated as beach for dogs. It’s a sandy, gravel beach and its
waters are calm and clean.
This
beach does not offer many services but it allows to enjoy the free time for
both dogs and their owners.
The opening time is from
07:00 to 10:00 hrs in the morning and
from 19:00 to 21:00 hrs in the afternoon.
There are just few
rules. It is not posible to feed dogs by the beach, it is mandatory to
respect the rest of users, it’s mandatory to collect faeces and the owner
should have the document of the animal. Dogs of potentially dangerous breeds
(PPP) are required to be tied and muzzled.
Playa de Guacimeta
The
second beach for dogs in Lanzarote is Playa de Guacimeta. It is situated
close to the airport of Lanzarote, by Playa
Honda, belongings to San Bartolomé.
It
is a beach with toasted sand and calm waters, which invites owners and pets to
enjoy. There are several terraces and services for a perfect day.
At
the moment 165 meters of beach are for
dogs, withour limitis in timings. As for the other beach previously mentioned, there
are few rules to be respected.
On
one side dogs of potentially dangerous breeds (PPP) are required to be tied and
muzzled, for security reasons. On the other side every dog has to wear a belt
when they are not inside the water.
The
dog has to be vigilated without disturbing the rest of people. The owner is
responsible to collect feces and use the apposite bins.
