In Canarian Islands it’s possible to find
many crafted products with aloe vera. The Canarian archipelago is the
aloe vera main producer region in Europe.

and Gran Canaria. In Lanzarote, more or less 150 hectares of soil are intended
for the cultivation.
This allows the production of about 6 millions of kilos of aloe

There have been proofs of the presence of aloe since the
Egyptian, even if the origin is imprecise. A papyrus of about 1500 years before
Christ was already about the uses of this plant. Since then,

affirms that Cristopher Columbus brought this great plant to Americas. During
the recent history, the aloe vera reached a big relevance in several fields. Even
if its main use is as cosmetic and dermatologic applications, aloe vera is also used in pharmacy, cookery,
etc.

The kind of aloe cultivated here is
the Aloe Barbadensis Miller, the one
known as the Canarian aloe vera. The aloe vera offers many healthy featueres
with a lot of uses. Among them, the main one is its healing power, very
efficient in order to treat burns, bites, irritation, stretch marks, scars or
wounds.

museum. Inside there it’ s possible to learn a lot about the aloe vera
history,its cultivation, the care it needs and how it can be used. Besides
