This is a complete visit to the south of the island where we will visit the most important tourist spots beginning with El Golfo, the green lake and Timanfaya National Park.
On this excursion we will visit one of the most important natural attractions on the island, the Timanfaya National Park.
Heading there we will cross the towns of Macher, Uga and Yaiza respectively, the latter being awarded numerous times as the cleanest town in Spain, which literally limits its streets with the sea of lava belonging to Timanfaya.
Once in the Park, we will stop at the islote de Hilario, where we will have the opportunity to check, as a demonstration, the high temperatures that are still recorded in Timanfaya. Then we will begin the other part of this visit by doing the Route of the Volcanoes, which will take us through the places where the volcanic eruptions that formed the park in the s. XVIII and where we can listen to the narration of the events according to the priest of Yaiza at that time.
Next, and still within the limits of Timanfaya, we will have the opportunity to ride a camel through part of this almost lunar landscape. The area can be quite windy and sunny, we recommend that you bring a jacket or hat with you. Then we will go to the coast, of volcanic formation, crossing Las Salinas de Janubio (access is currently cut) and reaching El Golfo, where the symbolic Green Lake is located. To finish, we will cross the area of La Geria, a part also affected by the eruptions, where we will be able to appreciate the ingenuity of the island's peasants when it comes to taking advantage of the natural disaster of the volcanic eruption, for the cultivation of vines.
Great tour! Really fantastic tour to learn about Cesar Manrique and the impact he had on the island.
Roland, our guide, and Charlie, our driver, were a fantastic team. Especially Roland, who was a wealth of information and seemed to always have something interesting to say wherever we were on the route. His language skills were most impressive and his sense of humour kept us smiling throughout.
The tour felt planned out to perfection, with an excellent amout of time at each stop; we never felt rushed nor did we feel bored.
What can I say we absolutely loved this tour. We had a fantastic day out and was well worth the money. Coach driver and Tour Guide were amazing and would definitely recommend
Nice and beautiful !
The guide was super nice and funny ! The instruction and anecdotes about the city were a plus. The pick up to your hotel is very convenient.
The city itself is beautiful !
